Quick rearend question
Howdy,
I've got a ring and pinion out of a 76? GMC Sierra Grande. It's either a 2.76 or a 2.67. I'm almost positive it's a 2.76...does that sound right? Thanks for anything.

no that doesnt sound right.. divide the teeth on the big gear by the number of teeth on the little gear...
I dont think any trucks in that era came with 2.73 but that would be the closest to what you said.. The number of teeth should also be stamped on the side of the ring gear (the big one) like "41 10" which would be 4.10:1 let me know what it ends up being.. mike |

you learn this infowhen you take so many trucks and axles apart
2.76 is 12 bolt truck ratio, 2.73 is in the 10bolts 8.5" |
