69 Camaro front valance and spoiler on a 67 c10?
Hello everyone.. new to the site and have some ideas I want to get input on.
Along the same lines as this discussion I just read about the front spoiler... Im looking to retrofit a front valance with the fog lights and spoiler from a 69 Camaro onto my 67 c10. I currently have the traditional roll pan up there but I feel like being a little different. Im even toying with the idea of something along the lines of the second pic. I think they both would look great. Anyone have any ideas on this? |

This could be cool, there's another sub-forum for photoshoppers, if you post there im sure someone could make it happen, i love the idea!

This is a render I did of what I'm planning on doing on my Jimmy project, along the same lines:
Sectioned and stretched 67-68 Camaro bumpers, dimple died roll pan, and a Spoilers by Randy spoiler. Grill is a 71-72 GMC grill with the horizontals removed. Also considering recessing the fogs into the pan. |

Also planning on doing sectioned and stretched Camaro bumper with a pan on the rear. I already did the dimples on the rear pan, here's a pic so you know what I'm talking about:
The rear would be a '69 bumper, the '67s and '68s are flat across the bottom and the '69s have a rise over the plate which would work better since there isn't a whole lot of room between the plate pocket in the pan and the bottom of the open tailgate. |

Have you seen this truck? No spoiler but Camaro (obviously modified) bumpers front and rear (link below pics).
IMO you should only run a valence if you're going to run air ride. It only looks cool if it's dropped low, but if it's low it's going to scrape and get caught up on stuff (I have trouble driving my lowered mustang around in my area, and I only lowered it an inch). http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...547893&page=10

Re: 69 Camaro front valance and spoiler on a 67 c10?
I dont plan on slamming it to the ground , what i have in mind is a mid 80s early 90s C4 Vette front suspension and cross member and coil overs in back. It will have more of a race stance than a slammed stance... and should perform well.
Theres a local guy doing the Vette suspensions around here that does beautiful work. I can get the full setup for the front for 400 bucks here and he has the jig and all to install it correctly. 1500 for labor. That pic with the Camaro front and rear bumpers is exactly what Im looking for. Do you have a pic from the front of that? |

Re: 69 Camaro front valance and spoiler on a 67 c10?
There are more pics of that grey truck around somewhere, lots of body work to make that happen the way he did it, and pretty sure the bumpers were attached to the bodywork so in that sense they are more like trim pieces than functioning bumpers. Don't get me wrong it's awesome work.
The plan on mine is to have bumpers that are at least as functional as they were on the Camaros, which isn't much, but it's something. The grey trucks "bumpers" if bumped will likely mangle the sheet metal behind them as much or more than if they weren't there. Possmguts, what are you asking about how to do, the dimples or the sectioning? Oh and by the way, what you are describing is pretty much what I'm doing, you may want to scan my build thread. |

Click the link below the pic. That's the build thread with more pics (not my truck so I don't have more pics).

This is mine. Not as modified as some but it is differant and it's a one of a kind.
If the Camaro front end is grafted on to the truck it will take a lot of modifications to the radiator support and front end.

Re: 69 Camaro front valance and spoiler on a 67 c10?
It does look awesome.....but it also looks like an S10 scale truck, and it isn't. Those hide away doors would be the size of a Frisbee, a C10 is getting close to a foot wider than a first gen Camaro so all that stuff would be giant scale and not simply stretched Camaro pieces. Not to say it couldn't be done, but it would all need to be fabbed from scratch I think.

I'm a big Camaro lover too! That would be a nice ride done correctly. I would love to have my 2 favorite vehicles rolled into one.
