hey guys, I have been reading about the use of jeep springs in the rear of 60's coil spring apache's/c10's and was wondering if anyone has done this for a 67-72. I am on a tight budget and dont have the 150-200$ for some lowering springs, but I can find stock jeep springs all day long for $20. thanks in advance for any info.

Waste of time. I tried it and they lowered my truck about an inch, if that. They are not any shorter than stock springs, just a weaker rate which makes them bouncy. Others claim they work great, but I think it's just the excitement of buying something cheaper.

You can get stock coil springs for aboot 55 bucks at the autoparts store

Stock coils for what, a c10 or a jeep?

For a c10, I always avoid brothers with springs since they gave me the wrong drop for my rear.

I put Jeep springs on mine. Lowered it about 4 inches and has a nice soft ride. I'm replacing them with bags soon though, because you can't haul anything more than a sack of potatoes back there.

If you don't plan on using the truck to haul anything, I'd go with them.

Well, they wouldn't be permanent, but they would likely be in there for a while. But the only thing I hope to haul is a$$ ;-) . I think I'm gonna scour craigslist and find a cheap set of jeep springs and throw them in because right now my truck looks like its riding in the moons gravity.

I read a bit on the jeep springs. They come in something like 4 different rates which I assume would have some effect on how much total drop you got.

I am more interested in trying the late 90s Taurus wagon springs. They are apparently much shorter than stock and look pretty beefy.

Brothers trucks runs their drop springs on sale quite often for $88. They usually have them in their Black Friday sale. That's how I bought my drop springs.

Would probably bite @ $90. Can't justify going to a yard, pulling, then spending 30-40$ on something that might work for that.

I don't know if other year's work, but I know I put TJ springs on mine, which would be a 1997-2006 Wrangler. 3-4 inch drop and soft ride, but minimal hauling capabilities. See pic a few posts up for a pic of my truck with Jeep TJ springs.

Did you have to relocate your shocks and get shorter ones?

I used the shockrelocators from robnolimit

I have TJ springs in mine. So soft that they're bouncy. Hauling is out of the question. I don't like them at all. PO put them in. I only know what they are because they had Mopar part # tags on them and I googled the part # and found out what they were.

I believe I read on here somewhere that the tj's had different spring rates, identified by color coding.
