rear door glass removal.
I need to change the glass run rubber an I am going to attempt to tint the windows to when I do. Any tips/tricks to pulling both the windows out of the back door?
Thanks!

Re: rear door glass removal.
You may get more responses if you told people what type of vehicle it is.

Re: rear door glass removal.
Being that I posted this in the 73-87 blazer jimmy suburban section that should narrow it down I would think? Being that blazer and jimmys dont have back doors that would also narrow it to just suburbans, at least in my mind it did.
Regardless its an 89 GMC R3500 Crew Cab with a turbo 400 transmission and a 454 engine. And before anyone says 89's dont belong in this section heres a picture. Thanks!

Re: rear door glass removal.
Every Blazer I've ever owned had a back door. Some might call it a tailgate. A suburban has either a tailgate or a set of back doors. After seeing the picture of the crew cab we now know you are looking for assistance in removing the window glass from a rear passenger door.

Re: rear door glass removal.
I also said BOTH windows out of the door which to me narrowed it to only a side door, since a blazer/suburban with a tailgate only has one large piece of glass and a suburban with barn doors doesnt have glass run seals as the windows in the barn door dont roll down to my knowledge.
Anyway, yes thats what I'm asking about, sorry for the confusion.

Re: rear door glass removal.
Yea, I as thinking it "might be" the 02' burb.... That was the only obvious rear door option from your vehicle profile list.

Re: rear door glass removal.
It wasn't. Neither was the quick search I performed and posted the results above that answered your question.

Does anyone have anything helpful to add? Maybe someone who's actually removed the windows in question? if we can move past the ball busting that is?

Re: rear door glass removal.
Well I got it done. If anyone has any questions about it just ask.
Not bad for my first time doing tint I don't think.

Re: rear door glass removal.
What's the trick? I'm guessing you had to pull the stationary pieces of glass to get the roll up glass out.

Re: rear door glass removal.
Ya that's how I did it, I don't know if that's how you have to do it but it worked for me. I pulled everything out of the door except the latch an door handle linkage, I cleaned an regreased the regulator rollers, tinted the glass while it was out an painted the bar between the windows. I still have to put the door panels back on but I had to stop for the day so I'll button it up tomorrow.
