suburban panel frame question
I have a chance to get a 68 (I think) panel in great shape except for one small problem there is know frame. just a body on blocks, will a long bed pick up frame work under this? is there another chassis that can be used? I want to keep it 2wd, but really my main concern is getting it home right now. Thanks

Here is a thread on the subject. This is about a Burb but it would be the same for a Panel. http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...d.php?t=239942 LockDoc

Re: suburban panel frame question
This is a suburban/panel mount not found on trucks. Mine is a 4x4 with leaf springs. This is at the front spring hanger.

Re: suburban panel frame question
A couple of yeasrs ago, I swaped the frames from my 1972 4x4 rusty suburban to my 2wd 1967 panel. The frames swapped right out. You will find that the pickup frame rails are the same as well if you can get the body mounts from an old suburban or panel frame and replace the pickup mounts. You would have to use the rear bunper brackets from the pickup as well, as the pickup frame has been cut shorter at the rear tail. (I would look for a frame burb or panel. ) They are around. I gave one away a couple of years ago. Hope this helps.
