Two tone paint question

getting ready to paint my 67 and am thinking of painting the top of the cab white. The truck was not originally a two tone pattern. Does anyone know where to locate the steel pins that need to be spot welded along the back of cab to mount the stainless trim piece? thanks for looking

A bodyman friend bought a whole bag of them and said they were easy to purchase, so i would call the nearest autobody supply store, or maybe ask a bodyshop where they would attain some?

How do you spot weld them on? Classic Parts and probably others sell screws that are shaped like the studs and just screw on. I put them on before painting and then the plastic parts just clip on and the trim snaps on easy.

"Locate" as in buy or X, Y and Z coordinate locations on the cab?

that far in yet.

Before you go welding or blowing holes remember the factory waterline reference "40" is not the edge of the rear window pinchweld.

BTW Unless you have access to a stud welder I'd just use the screw kits as was the factory repair or simply pop rivets as we used to do on vinyl tops moldings.

There are several threads on this and at least one with a direct measurment you might want to look at. A quick search should dig it up. Key words cab paint divider molding and D99 should do the trick. If I get a chance I will try to post up a link later.

I think we are just going to use the screw set up seems like the best solution.
