fan shroud

hi guys im looking for a fan shroud for my truck. I don't know the original size of the radiator but it now has the 21 inch radiator in it. ive called all the suppliers and they cant tell me what I need. they don't have listings with dimensions on them or even list them in their computer. ive tried lmc and brothers. the truck is a 78 with a small block 400. originally it was abig block truck. I have converted it to serp belt with the system off of a 97 chevy truck. it will have ac but not the stock setup. any help would be great. even better if someone has one and would like to part with it. JOE

Re: fan shroud

I have one of the large 2 piece deep fan shroud that came on the 305 & 350 engines in the 80's that might work for you. I can get the measurements for you if you want them. Looks like I'm about 2 hours away (due South).
Let me know.

Re: fan shroud

Might I suggest an electric fan setup with it's own shroud. I put one in my 84 and I am not sorry many years later. I also changed my 91 Silverado daily driver to the same fan set up and gained a mile per gallon. The first pic is the 91 truck with the factory radiator and the second is the 84 truck with a Be Cool radiator.

Re: fan shroud

There have been a slew of shrouds available, best bet is to go to the autowreckers and start looking for something with a similar setup to what you have. Rad height & small block, and you still may find you have something that isn't quite right. When I was looking for one it struck me just how many different variations there are for a truck that "never changed".

Alex.
