87 R10 with 3/5 drop Can I run 255/70 15 tires?

I have a 87 R10 Custom Deluxe all original with ralley wheels. I want to do an inexpensive drop and not have to cut or modify the truck. I just put new 255 70 15 tires and was going to do a 2/4 drop but the rear scackles will require cutting the bed crossmember so was going to do a 3/5 flip bracket and coil. Has anyone ran this set up? Thanks

I'm running a similar setup with mine. My '87 has a 4/6 drop. It has a flip kit out back and 3" drop spindles with half a coil cut. I also took off the rear bump stop bracket and trimmed the lower control arms to clear the stock rallies. Also, the tires do rub on hard dips. Here is a pic of the truck.

Here are some pics of the rear and front bump stops. I installed these bump stops up front to minimize the tire rubbing.

How'd you remove the rear bump stops? Air hammer? Mine are hitting hard lol

I believe I used a sawzall to cut the rivet heads off then used a air punch to knock them out. If not, a cut off tool will do.

Cutting the bed cross rail is no big deal and does not mess with the structural integrity at all. Although I do think you'll like the 3/5 drop better. I'd suggest to trade the 70s for a pair of 60s up front.
