Mine were in decent shape only didn't work all that well. Took them apart, slides slide out backwards. ( That's clear as mud )...cleaned all surfaces inside and out with fine steel wool (0000)..reassembled with gel lube. They work really well now.

Do you realize your hatch struts are only screwed in with one screw on each end!?!
There should be two screws on each end. Look at your picture, the ends are just flopping around! That's a great way to destroy your nice single wall top in a hurry |

I have some of the original style bolts for the struts in the blazer for sale section I moved it to the top so it should be easy to find.
