Best seam sealer

My cab is hand stripped to bare metal and I am starting on bodywork. I don't have any rust issues. I stripped all of the factory seam sealer out of the rain gutter, stripped where the rockers spot weld on to the cab pillars, etc.... I can't remember the brand of sealer I used the last time I painted my '38 Dodge and I can't find it online.

I will etch prime ahead of sealing. I plan to paint with Summit Hot Rod Flat red Acrylic Urethane paint.

What is the best seam sealer to use here and also in the floor, etc...? I am painting myself. This truck will be a regular driver sitting outside a lot in the AZ sun year 'round.

I have been using this for about 10 years or so and I have been very happy with it. It is sand-able (although it takes work) and has held up on several trucks well. Since I didn't need to sand it much because of being covered, using it on interior seams was great. I am able to brush it on too in many locations.

The hardest (most work) issue for me was when I did the drip rails on my 70 C10. The sanding/blending into the body to make it look smooth was a good bit of work (since it is not a self-leveling sealer) but the end results were very good looking.

Thanks guys I appreciate the feedback. It may seem like a trivial step but it is "under the paint" and therefore very critical to what the end result will look like down the road :-)

I am having trouble finding the Evercoat Maxim 100824....where are you guys finding it? I am hoping to stay with a single cartridge type so I can use a regular caulking gun. Is the Eastwood 2K self leveling seam sealer any good?

Thanks, but I have read that thread. I just have not found the gun for $25.00 let alone the gun and a cartridge for $25.00. I'll keep looking.

Everything I see listed here is 1K the "Brushable" and all are 1K. 1K simply "dries" like old lacquer paint and primers. I just seam sealed the gutter on my daily driver 1959 Rambler yesterday, and it got 2K seam sealer. 2K, yes is more expensive, yes it requires a more expensive gun, but darn it, it's a thousand times more durable than 1k. 2K is like epoxy or urethane primers or paints. It doesn't "dry" it "cures" with the molecules linking up to form a new material. This material is solvent resistant, water resistant, and adheres much better. It's what the collision industry uses every day on 2014 cars when repairing them back to manufacturers specifications.

At work, we have about 10 air powered guns for the sealers we use. Yes they are very expensive, at home I have a manual one. I have used it for metal structural panel adhesive, plastic structural adhesive, seam sealers, expandable foam. The tubes stay good for years if you leave them with the mixing tube on it after you use it. The mixed stuff in it hardens and seals off the tube from the air so it won't cure or dry out. You unscrew the mixing tube and put a new one one, and you are ready to go.

Really think about upping to this 2K it's a big step up.

I honestly don't need to make a recommendation more than the name brands, that's all you need. 3M Fusor, SEM, we use a commercial brand "Winzer" at the shop and I of course get it for home.

Evercoat has 2K products that don't need a special gun. http://www.evercoat.com/productcategory.aspx?cat=41 Look over their stuff and be sure the one you get is 2K they may have both.

And I have to say, Evercoat is one of those companies that if they started selling TV's I would buy one. I have used their stuff for decades, spoke with the tech department many times they are always helpful. Their products are spot on, there is frankly no reason to go anywhere else as far as I am concerned.
