Removing 1972 C10 Cab
Hello. I have a 1972 c10 with an automatic trans and AC. What do i need to unhook to pull the cab? Im ok with cutting all the wiring. What is the best method step by step process. Thanks

Best method? Not cutting any wiring! .... There is no real step by step process just make sure everything is unhooked.
Remove battery, negative cable first. unhook all wiring and label it so you know where it go's later, that includes ground straps. Drain and remove radiator. Unhook heater hoses. Drain brake fluid from master cyl. Unhook brake lines from master cyl. Do you own flair nut wrenches? Unhook Linkages from tranny. Pull steering column. Pull Seat. Unhook Gas line below cab. Unhook E brake cable. Unhook oil pressure line if equipped. Remove the front clip. Removing doors makes the cab lighter. Unbolt cab mounts. Now look everything over to be sure you didn't miss anything.. How do you plan on lifting the cab? overhead hoist? Cherry picker? Here's a thread that shows a 4X4 support mod for a cherry picker: http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...light=cab+lift Now where are ya gonna put it? do you have a dolly made to put it on?

Just unbolt everything. It's pretty self-explanatory once you start.
As far as removing the cab goes, me and my brother-in-law just lifted mine up and carried it over the front end of the frame. A completely stripped cab can't even weigh 300 pounds, because it's pretty easy to move

Oh ya.... Once you look at it, you will feel much better about it.
I actually pulled my nose and fenders before the engine and tranny. It's much easier that way, since that stuff has to come off anyway. It's kind of like peeling away an onion. You start at the outside layer and work your way to the center
