Best window regulators
Who makes the best window regulators?
I just installed new window regulators and they broke within about 5 minutes(both sides).Very frustrating after the time it took and the $110 I paid for them. I bought new regulators, felts and glass from Classicparts.com and after installing and rolling up and down a few times the gears inside shattered into pieces. Are these all made by one company or are there better ones out there? |

Re: Best window regulators
Is Classic Parts going to refund your money for these 'junk parts'????
Just wondering as it seems they have the best prices on parts and I'd like to know how their customer service is handling your issue?

Also the problem I had with my original regulators was all of the plastic bushings were missing from the rollers and 1 was stripped at the handle. I bought a new one from Dan's Classic while I was in Portland this weekend, he said if I have the same problem he will take it back and get me another one from a different supplier if needed. Since he has 2 suppliers he can get them from. Hopefully it wont take me a year to get to it this time. |

Re: Best window regulators
You would probably be better off hunting down a good pair of original regulators. The only problem I ever had with them was that the handles stripped out if the felt got bad in the channels and the glass hung up.

Re: Best window regulators
Small update, I got a call from Classic Industries last week and they offered to replace the parts but wanted to check the new parts before sending.
Since there was no way for them to check the end that broke and they still get these from the same manufacturer they gave me a refund. It was nice to get a phone call and great customer service, when I wasn't really expecting anything. I will be installing some new regulators next week, hopefully they don't break. |
