Re: Installing carpet today...any tips/advice
It goes in a little easier if you lay it out in the sun a bit 1st. Ive only done one other carpet and that was in my 69 chevelle....a few years ago. Will be doing my truck this wwekend also....so looking forward to what others say. But that's all that I can offer. Does yours have the jute pad preglued to the back? Mine came with it already installed which I like personally.

Put all the bolts in the floor before carpet goes in. Then, all you have to do is X with a knife for the perfect hole location. NEVER drill loop carpet!

I think laying it in the sun and the bolts in the floor are both really good tips.
I use a cheap garment steamer to warm the carpet while putting it in. We don't always have the sun to do the job here in Oregon. You may also want to have some glue to tack it down in a few places like 3M Super 77. Don't use a heat gun, it's easy to melt the carpet. |

^^^ This…I also use a little handheld steamer (don't tell my wife) to relax the carpet a bit, and have it ready to go during the first part of the install to relax sections that go over contours. I try to make the carpet install a 2-day project, ensuring the carpet is laying properly before I bolt in the seat(s), etc. the next day.

Re: Installing carpet today...any tips/advice
I did my deadener etc first obviously, then I put the carpet in the bed of the truck in the sun and used a little squirt bottle to lightly mist some water on it (ends up working like a steamer, without a steamer). After 20-30 min (don't go too long, idk how UV save the stuff is...I tossed it in the truck.
It helps to have a freind so you can each come in from a door, and go back-front rolling it out. That way you can each use seat bolts/trim peices to strech and tuck as you go. I used 3m carpet tape in a few areas where my fitment is different due to mods. I also bought extra carpet and made footwell panels and a back splash to trim the rear of the cab. I have pics of the whole thing in my build!

Re: Installing carpet today...any tips/advice
When I installed my carpet, I put it in the truck - lay under the truck and heated a nail red hot with a torch. Then all u have to do is stick the nail through the carpet. It melts the hole into the carpet, and also seals the edges so it don't unravel, worked well for me.
