Hey guys, New member possibly about to purchase my first chevy
Hey guys, I have never been a chevy guy and I have never owned one but have always respected them. I have a background of drag racing and playing with street cars (mostly all mustangs) and have always been a car guy. Having been maried now for 7yrs with 2 small kids I have been kinda out of the car game for a while. I sold a 02 ram recently and figured I would buy myself a older vehicle I could get cheap and possibly fix up a little. I have been looking at buying a older ford truck but wasn't really finding many that caught my attention.
A close buddy of mine let me borrow his 84 c10 swb for a short period while I was moving and I really enjoyed driving the old truck. That paticular truck was a blast to drive having a zz4 crate engine and th350 with a converter. I was talking to him one day and he started telling me his uncle had a 1986 swb 2wd c10 that he had mentioned selling so I went and checked it out and was plesantly surprised to find a pretty clean one owner silverado that just needs some minor tlc to be a real nice truck for the measly sum of $1800. It has a 305/th350 with long tube headers edelbrock intake and holley 600 on it. Needless to say this will be my truck pretty soon. |

Thanks guys....lucky thing is that isn't really being advertised as for sale. I am the only person that's looked at it.
I am not a fan of the visor or the fiberglassed on front air dam but the truck is in such good shape I can't pass it up. |

Re: Hey guys, New member possibly about to purchase my first chevy
Alright guys, I got the truck and have been driving it for a week now. I really like it but the 305 is weak at best. I am having to work out some bugs since it's been sitting so long. The motor fires up almost instantly but makes a loud knocking noise when in park but as soon as its under load in gear the noise goes away. I am thinking its a broken flywheel. I also have no tailights but all the other lights work perfectly including rear turn signals and brake lights. I am not sure where to start.
