is this a good price for an NOS tailgate ( 77-80 ) ... ??
I ran across this ad and I was wondering if this is a good price for this item ( part number; 467206 / 1900106 ) .. ??
asking price is 140,- http://milwaukee.craigslist.org/pts/4998660661.html

Looks reasonably priced to me...but whats up with the welds on the bottom?

Why would a new old stock tailgate need to be welded together . Not new in my opinion .

Looks like a GM tailgate but it is not "NOS"
I bought my NOS tailgate which was still wrapped in GM cardboard for $75. I do not know what year it is for though!

All OEM body panels in the era came from GM in a dipped black prime. GM welded sheet metal with spot welds no a Mig welder. I have handled many a tailgate none had those kinds of welds from GM. Definitely not NOS.

Paid $1200; sold for $1500 a few years later. Just a hint at the appreciation that was coming. Retired as a factory automation products salesman.
