Tail/liftgate anti rattle
There are 4 rectangular rubber cushions that press into the flanged surface the tailgate closes against. I'm not sure what they are called, and have been searching around trying to find someone that makes it.
Does anyone know the piece I am talking about or where to get a replacement? Mine are dried and shriveled beyond usefullness. EDIT- Found them at Steele Rubber http://www.steelerubber.com/tailgate-bumper-70-1795-71 Last edited by Manatee Poacher; 05-06-2015 at 08:24 PM. Reason: answered my own question |

Re: Tail/liftgate anti rattle
I was searching for these as well since two of mine are missing.
What is strange is that the remaining ones do not have the anti rattle bump and look more like a hinge delete cap. I guess they must be one of the superseded numbers. By chance do you have a source for the tail gate corner seals? |

Yeah they might just be fillers if you don't have the barn door option. Or perhaps they are dual purpose?
I'm not sure what you mean by corner seal, don't have my truck in front of me to look at. |

Pretty sure they are plugs for barn door upper hinges.
I was able to get mine from one of the big vendors years ago, I wouldn't expect them to be that hard to find today?

Re: Tail/liftgate anti rattle
After looking more closely at my tail gate the "corner piece" looks to be the top portion of the gate seal itself that wraps around and is screwed into the corner of the gate.

Re: Tail/liftgate anti rattle
That's correct, big chunk of rubber with 3 screw holes in it, the gate seal is attached. Got mine from Brother's.
