Recommendations for tubular control arms.

I want to go tubular control arms on my 72 c10. I love the Hotchkiss products but can't depend the cash at the moment what's my next best bet? Any of them center the tire in the wheel well like the Hotchkiss stuff.

Porterbuilt arms would be my next choice after Hotchkis.

If tight on cash, why change arms? There is nothing wrong with them. Tubular arms are great if you are going with air bags, coil overs or just have money to burn.

We really like the Porterbuilt arms and our customers have been very happy with them. What are your plans with the suspension? The Porterbuilt arms offer different variations, depending on what your plans are for the truck.

At this point my truck is making some weird noises when turning. Only when the brakes are hot. If I push on the brakes the noise goes away. The guys at properformance where I got the brake kiy have been great but unable to figure out what the problem is. I have taken everything in the front end off multiple times and see no problems so **** it I am changing everything. The noise is killing me.

man, replacing parts without diagnosis is much more expensive than properly diagnosing the problem.

So you are having an issue with a noise, that only happens when the brakes are hot and if you are turning but goes away if you push on the brakes. To solve this you want to replace all the arms.... That seems a little extreme, kind of like saying my engine stalls and to fix it you replace the entire engine.

What type of noise are you having? What type of brakes are they? Do you get any noise when they are cold? My first guess is it is pad knock back and the noise is the pads rattling. Could be as simple as the wheel bearing is too loose and allowing the rotor to move in and out, pushing the pads back in. It goes away when you hit the brakes because you remove all the slop that occurred when the pads pushed back.

The noise I am having is like a grinding, humming noise during Turing in either direction when brakes are hot. I have the pro performance 14" bbk from bear. No noise when they are cold. Any more help would be great this is the 3rd full week the truck has been in the shop and funds are tight. HELP

Has the shop verified the front end is solid (nothing loose/worn/etc)?

Are you referring to the front cross member and radiator support?

Front x-member & anything suspension related that ties into it.

I know we have been working with you to resolve this issue that we can't seem to trace down to one item. I know we looked for any witness marks or points of things wearing or grinding and couldn't find anything. The new kit we have sent your way should get you back on track. So did they pull apart the the brakes? It sounds like when some part gets that hot its growing causing an interference like there is the wrong shims in place. As far as the noise going away when you press on the pads, are there different compounds of pads for your system? They might be the wrong pad for your driving style or the pad itself has gone bad from warped rotors.

Rotors are new and we changed the pads to see if that would help and it has not. The kit has been apart many times looking for ware marks or signs of rubbing. We can find no such issue.

Okay, that's that. Did they replace the bearings or at least clean and degrease them to check for bad spots? I had a grinding type noise and it was my bearings that were shot, they didn't have enough grease to keep them cool and got way to hot. When I turned the wheels it put extra strain against the bearings, especially the one in the rotor.
