I found a free 63
I found a free 63 now I just need to figure out how to get it home and what to tell my wife. The floors are solid, even the wood in the back. I'm not too sure what the passenger side looks like but the drivers side is straight as an arrow. Might make a good unibody-pickup

hope the right side is decent... I see some deluxe w/s trim, and a deluxe steering wheel!

Re: I found a free 63
Well I pushed it over while I was at work today, and surprisingly the passenger side wasn't as bad as I thought it was going to be. There isn't a new car out there that could have faired this well.

Re: I found a free 63
That passenger side looks pretty good. Some hammer and dolly work could fix it. Price is right for starting a unibody build. Go for it I'd like to watch.

Re: I found a free 63
Sorry to be too honest, but this is too much project for almost anyone. Turning it back into a roller, let alone a unibody is a dream.

Hahahah....really..already doubters...must be a "pay to build" car owner who has never gotten hot metal in their collar from grinding or welding...let alone smashing a finger with a hammer.. I'm hoping this build goes forward---totally save-able--

Re: I found a free 63
Looks like a nice score, especially for the price! If you're going to cut the back top off, let me know. I could use it to patch mine. I could also use the back windows if you're cutting it up.

Re: I found a free 63
Nice score. And looks like its full of lots of great parts. Too bad the aluminum grill is shot. I could use the grill mounting brackets if you opt too toss the grill.

Re: I found a free 63
Once again a nice 63 grill without the bezels and smashed. Makes you wonder about retaining the original drum brakes.
Nice burb though for the price! Had lot's of options originally.

Re: I found a free 63
Pick up a GM B-body car (Caddy,Roadmaster,ImpalaSS,Caprice) ....
There is your frame. I know someone else on here that went that route ......

Re: I found a free 63
Rear sliders show that this used to have 3 rows of seats. You can probably find a 63-66 long bed frame for free. Then cut it down and fab the necessary rear body mount brackets for the suburban.
