Under Dash Cover

My first car was an 81 Volvo. It had carpet panels that covered the under side of the dash. These made it much quieter inside, and made the hearer blower quieter too. They ran from the dash to the firewall.

Has anyone done something like this to our trucks? I have some leftover short pile carpet, and was thinking of making one...
