Olive Loaf/ A fresh start. Target low 12's
Hello Guys,
It has been a while since I posted. This 1970 truck had to be put on hold for a couple of reasons, first I picked up a Camaro. The Camaro project took all my spare time and money. Now it's time to start the truck. The goal is to run low 12's and still use it as a truck. It will not be a daily driver. However it will have to tow at times. 1.) I need some expertise on setting up the back half of the truck. 2.) I have a 56 inch wide Dana 60, 4:10 gear. Power-lock. 2 inch lowering block. 3.) I need help on which rear springs and do I need to move the front attachment point on the control arms? 4.) What bushings or ball mounts on the control arms. 5.) I will use a 12 inch wheel and soft tires on track days. Any rear spring and control arm ideas are appreciated! Cheers. David |

I would use Porterbuilt trailing arms and their tubular trailing arm crossmember.
You might be better off using a coilover shock in the rear for adjustability. Contact the guys at: www.pbfab.com

Thank you for the prompt reply. I have just looked at the Porterfield components. Their crossmember has a lot of adjustability. My only concern on the coilovers is the cross support bar and trying to use the stock bed.
Anyone have coilovers under a stock truck bed? David |

Depending on how wide of a tire you plan to run, you may be able to fabricate something like No Limit's kit that will work with coil overs. Their kit specifically says 'will not work with coil over shocks'.
