Help with tire size
I picked up a 80 short stepper, it has 2" drop spindles with 2" drop springs in the front, and the rear axle is flipped, with about 2" lowering blocks as well. It has rally wheels on it now, but I would like to put some 18x8 mb old school wheels on it. I think it looks good when people put bigger tires in the rear, but I would like to find a good size 18" tire I can put on all 4 corners. The wheels are 18x8, with 0 offset. They also have a 20x9.5 with a 0 offset that would look good in the rear, but I'm not sure what size tires would look good. Thanks for any help.

Re: Help with tire size
That offset probably won't work well. I would discourage that.

Re: Help with tire size
I guess that 0 offset on a 8" wheel is 4.5" back spacing. What back spacing would you suggest for a 18x8 wheel.

Re: Help with tire size
I'm sorry. You are correct. I thought 0 offset would be 4 BS but it is indeed 4.5 BS. I'm running 4.5 and although they work it would be better to get around 5.25-5.5.

Re: Help with tire size
These are MB Old School 20x9.5 with 0 offset/5.22" back spacing with a 275/45/20 on the rear. The truck has a flip kit on the rear and 3" spindles with one coil cut off the factory springs in front. The fronts wheels are 20x8.5 with+7 offset/5" backspacing and a 245/40/20

Re: Help with tire size
Wow! Thanks, that is exactly the look I'm going for. I think I'm going to have to raise this truck up a little, I have drove it around a little, and it seems that the smallest bump, or driveway approach hits the lower control arms. It should be a fun project truck.

Re: Help with tire size
I'd wait until you put new wheels and tires on before lifting it back up. Depending on what size it may be enough of a lift on its own. Maybe even lower that back a couple more inches and that'll bring the front at a different angle.
