Air out back?

I have a friend that has offered to sell me a set of f9000 bags for about half price and in the spirit of No Limit's green Shop Truck that I love so much, I am seriously considering buying them and removing of my coil springs out back on my 69 GMC. Rob used them on the back of that truck and said that the ride is softer, and since they wont take away from the load capacity of the truck, not that this truck will ever see much of a load, I thought it might be a good idea and/or a little fun and different.

The truck is currently on stock springs and 2" blocks out back. I was going to cut 1/2 a coil from a new set of moog 6102's and probably swap to a 1.5" lowering block out back for scrub purposes so a spring change will be needed to level it back out regardless. I don't currently have a plan to add air up front in future. Never having dabbled in the world of Air springs, please indulge me while I am thinking out loud and help me figure our the feasibility of this. I would love help and ideas on what kind of air management systems I would be considering (compressor size, tank size, and valves) and other various logistical issues I might not be thinking of.

-If I am only going to run the 2 bags out back and not have much need for ride height adjustment, what size of compressor and tank should I go with?
-Is it possible to have too much air tank?
-Will the size of the tank or the function of the suspension effect my compressor needs on such a stagnant system?
-For what I am thinking about doing will it be useful or a waist of time to have a self leveling system out back? Or will it be expensive enough to not even waist my time with for what little benefit it might have?

What your considering is commonly done. The most simple version is to run seperate air lines to each bag to prevent air transfer, and use Schrader valves to fill them with an outside source. You can run a compressor and tank if you want. I dont feel a self leveling system is worth it in this application. If you planned to do a lot of towing, it would make more sense.

Thanks for the info, most appreciated! When it comes to air I am certainly a lost soul. If I do go with a compressor and tank, is a 2.5 gal tank a good size or should I go smaller and what is a reasonable size compressor?
