Re: 47-54 set back firewall

I've also seen people take a wheel barrow and an make a recessed firewall w/them. Not a 47-54 truck, but you'll get the idea. You can easily section them to get the size you want.

Re: 47-54 set back firewall

Direct sheet metal bought out the B-----n products line after they closed and the old shop foreman works for them.

My buddy used a wheelbarrow for the recess in his Model A in the mid 70's and it worked slick and looked great but he didn't have any leg room in that car.

After seeing the second photo Mphudak posted I wish I had done that on my 71 GMC when I put the Cad 500 in

One other to consider, Nsane's firewall's from this forum. Didn't see them on his site, but per the post from this pic they are supposed to be available. Def a thing of beauty. Just enough bead rolling to keep it simple and clean.

Do you need the whole thing? I used a chevy valve cover to get 3".
Just throwing ideas out there.

Similar to the wheelbarrow idea. Could use a No. 1 mortar pan.

Re: 47-54 set back firewall

I used a new wheelbarrow from Lowes. Cost $30 or so and redid the wheelbarrow frame for a brand new firewood toter. Win Win
