Re: 52 5 win build.

you dont need a carrier bearing or a slip joint, since the third member doesnt move. I would find a nice silverado longbed one piece and have it shortened

Re: 52 5 win build.

Question: How would one find out the year of an s-10 frame if thats all they have. Are the numbers stamped somewhere on the frame. Thanks.

Re: 52 5 win build.

people have told me the VIN is stamped on the top of the framerail in the door area. I have parted a ton of these trucks, all legally, and I have never seen it in person. I even asked guys who told me thats where it was to SHOW me, and nobody ever has.

as long as its an s10 frame and you have a bill of sale for it, I wouldnt worry about the year. 82-03 there werent that many changes, just brake lines and gas tank mounts.

S-10 regular cab or 1 1/2 cab? Do frames are same length?

I dont understand your question? I have parted reg cabs, extended (1 1/2) cabs, shortbeds, longbeds, all of em. there are three different wheelbases/frame lengths (four if you count a crewcab, six if you count the blazers) I havent found a number on any of them. someone told me there was a secret stamp inside so I actually cut a frame open, and found nothing.

If you are asking which frame to use for your build...the single cab long bed frame is the correct wheelbase. No, frames are not the same length. excab is longer.

Re: 52 5 win build.

Yes, i do have 117" wheel base s-10 frame. I would like to go thru the front end with new bushings n such, so thats y i would like the year of the frame. Or doesnt it matter? Bushings will fit no matter the year as long as it is for an s-10?

Re: 52 5 win build.

Have you looked at the length of the C3 and the width of the bed at the wheel wells?
