New to the site 1970 stepside chevy
Hello all! To make a long detail short. Me and my dad have been wanting to start a project that we can both create memories with and pass down. So i purchased a 1970 c10 step side 2wd base 250 I6 3 speed on column (converted to floor want to go back) with only option of painted rear bumper and power steering. Its a Michigan truck and supposedly has 31k miles. It needs some work. But will be fun for us to tackle. Reason for the name we plan on painting the truck Deep Ocean Blue which is a 2015 Silverado color. First few things we are going to tackle is converting the brakes and stripping it down to the frame to clean it up and paint it and also do a disc brake conversion.

First project other than doing a little bit of brake work to get it to stop was the bumper swap. Previous owner gave us this base bumper to replace the dented chrome one. And i also picked up a set of original 1970 Michigan plates for it!!

Thanks it needs some tlc but it runs and drives well i drove it 50 miles home from where it was purchased with little to no brakes and i have since fixed the brakes and put another 40-50 miles on it.

Welcome aboard! Awesome paint choice. I'm a big fan of the blue granite metallic, and I have yet to see it on anything older than a 2006. Keep us posted as you progress.

Re: New to the site 1970 stepside chevy
Once me and my dad finish doing a new patio for my mom we will be starting on it. Our First order of business is to strip the box, and front body work off so we can clean up the frame and rebuild the suspension. Once we get that far we will decide wither or not to remove the cab and go further.
