292 Fuel Line

Anyone have a photo of the factory 292 fuel line from fuel pump to carb? Ordered one from inline tube and the one the sent looks like it would be for a 250.. unless the damn thing is supposed to run over the top of the valve cover instead of in front of it. thanks....

Re: 292 Fuel Line

I bought brake lines from Inline Tube...had to readjust all the bends on every stinkin line because NONE of them fit right. Might just be that you have to adjust the bends on it.

Re: 292 Fuel Line

I would say it gets rotated counter clockwise (looking from front), passes under the PCV, and between the valve cover and stat housing.

Re: 292 Fuel Line

I'm almost sure that's the wrong line now...if you were to actually rout it correctly...the end that goes to the fuel pump would sit Exactly where a 230-250 fuel pump is mounted on the block.

when i walked in the inline store (since its here in michigan), i found the templates they have for bending lines may not be accurate. i had to bend the correct shape outta scrap tubing and then they bent up a new one with SS

Re: 292 Fuel Line

I agree, that looks like a 194,230,250 line.

Re: 292 Fuel Line

Ive dealt with these companies in the past and if you send them yours as a sample , some shops will send you back a new one free for your efforts. They take returns.

Re: 292 Fuel Line

Also , my 1963 292 fuel line come into the fuel pump from the side while my 66 292s come into the top of the fuel pump. Several different versions to consider.

Re: 292 Fuel Line

I'm not sure what that is, but I don't think it's a 230/250 either. At least on mine the fuel line comes out of the front side of the pump not the top. Then runs forward, and under and behind the distributor before heading up. That doesn't look long enough for any of our applications.

Re: 292 Fuel Line

The carb pictured on the orange engine is from a 60-62 235, the line comes in the front.
The carb pictured in the later thread on the greasy green engine is correct for the 63-66 292. Line comes in the side

This will make a huge difference
