Add rear sway bar on 51

Nova rear end, leaf springs,
Gonna add a rear sway bar, which way ,if it matters is best?
Down links in front of rear, or behind rear? Bar on top...
Bar could go below rear, but that looks odd and down links would be long.

Bar on top , links in front would be short, 3-4 inches or less

Bar on top, links to the rear of rear, would be a little longer.

Re: Add rear sway bar on 51

skip, since no one has answered yet, I'll start it off. I don't know sh!t about suspension, but GM had most of their rear bars below the axle in the 60's, 70's and 80's (I think). I can't see any thing wrong with in being on top. I would put it on top with the arms to the front. I also have a Nova axle and springs in my 50, have thought about a rear bar, what car did the one you have come off of. Let us know what you do, and how it works out...Jim
