Old truck show, that is. Last weekend was the ATHS Tri-State Truck Show in , VA, near Winchester. Here I was thinking I hardly took any pictures and put off till now to take them from my camera to the computer.

I'd have to be hauling some 5th wheel camper with that last one. It's got a modern little Cummins in it. Actually, so does the one before it.

That thing is so neat. It was a factory set-up, Diamond Reo experimented with. The whole deal sets off to mount your work week body. What a concept?

I've always thought those Marmons were ugly. So are the Emeryville cabovers, but I like the Emeryvilles and not the Marmons. I dunno why.

Great pictures again Tim.

I see that the Red R-Model Mack (post #6, 4th picture down) has a "V-8" Emblem on it. If all original, there will be a Mack V-8 in there. When it was ordered with a Detroit V-8, Mack would not use the Emblem for some reason.

Marmons are huge boxes going down the road. If anything, they play styling down. But they were high quality hand-built trucks that ran like a locomotive. I think those are where they got their style cues from. In my eyes ugly doesn't count on trucks, especially an old one. I think of the Marmon and Autocar as the brass car companies of trucks

My all time favorite "big-truck" has always been the old White Mustang. Very few around anymore though.

Bill, I always liked them myself. There was one park alongside Rt 460 in Roanoke a short while back. Not sure if it is still there.

I don't think I ever saw it. I think the guy next to the Routgough Mack dealership on 11 in Cloverdale who sells antique big trucks may have had one there a couple years ago.
