What is the correct orientation of the two arm rest cage nuts that are required for proper mounting of the factory style armrests?

From inside the door shell or simply popped in from the outside???

Re: ARM REST Cage Nuts

Robber,

I messed my door panels up, by miss-drilling the holes. He is what I have LEARNED the hard way.

Put a piece of twisted up paper towel through the "caged nuts" that are on the door. make sure paper sticks out at least 1/2" put lipstick on the ends.

Mount the inner door panel against the door with a friends help. the lip stick should make a mark where the holes should be drilled. These panel holes can be a bit bigger than needed as the strength is on the door, not the panel.

I screwed up and used the measurements from the old instruction stets and missed by 3/4 inch. Either I get new panels or rig up a way to mount the rest on the panel them selves with a thin steel backing plate for rigidity.

THANK YOU - this was my thought as well - the alternative has no integrity beyond the strength of the clip itself.

Thanks y'all ~ rg

Re: ARM REST Cage Nuts

The truck may or should have them on the door itself
