55-59 interiors
hey y'all show me your bench seats in 55-59 trucks
one thing i have on my list is to carpet the truck and put a new cover on the bench seat. im thinking of doing a black / gray combo on the seat... and either a black or gray carpet.. to match the headliner... have a plain black seat now..

Re: 55-59 interiors
Here's a couple of shots. I had to use an LED flashlight so the color is off, but the interior is factory light/dark grey so the seat is light grey vinyl around the base and side and dark grey cloth on the seat and back. The visors are also dark grey cloth with light grey seams. The mat is a reproduction of original and the headliner is original so it's a clean and uncluttered look.

Re: 55-59 interiors
your interior came out great. i love that seat cover. i may show a picture of your seat to the interior guy i know...and do a combo of black and gray.
theres SO many options with seat covers for these bench seats its crazy. not just colors, but patterns too i was also thinking of going a different direction and do a two tone seat that matches the turquise dash and the cherry wood steering wheel.... or turquiose and gray to match the headliner could look sweet?

Re: 55-59 interiors
Roger; I'm kinda new to the group, but been on here for a while. I've been off work since the 19th due to plant shut down for the Holidays. Checked up on the group the other day, saw you interior pics and WOW. So off I went reading your build thread, took me two and a half full days reading everyones comments and responses.Quit the gentlemen you are Roger sharing all your learned experiences with us all. Let me just say you have really outdone yourself with this build for your wife. The quality and craftsmanship you have instilled into her truck is, all I can say is Benchmark Excellence. But this is for your wife so that much work and detail put into it is to be expected for her safety. My hats off to you Roger, I think we all on the group will be trying to reach you quality mark. One last thing, congrats on your best of show trophies for the truck and car, Well deserved for sure. I think if you had put the in-liner back in, (yes I love the TPI), your truck would be a Conquers Trophy truck and used for and example for ALL restores. Everything you've done on the 57 is just exemplary. Well done... Rich...

I have the CPP 400 steering box and that made this column go further down through the firewall than a stock steering box would. That would be an issue with the stock 55 and 56 steering wheel. But it works perfect with the 57-59 wheel. An aftermarket wheel might need to have an extension. |

I blasted them, epoxy primered and painted with base/clear. The silver is a code for a GM silver they used on many different late model cars. The clear is SPI Universal Clear. |

Re: 55-59 interiors
You wont find a kit that looks like this.
It was done completely custom at my interior shop. He did the seat, visors, headliner and door pulls too. The zippered pocket you see behind the seat hides the ECM for the TPI engine. |

Re: 55-59 interiors
It cost me $630 for the carpet job and headliner.
Earlier, I paid him $400 for the seat, visor and door pulls. I don't think one grand is too bad for a complete interior. Especially for the quality I got. The hard part is finding someone good. Luckily I have that guy. For now anyway. He's the best guy in town but he's in his 70s. |

I had to extend the wires in the TPI harness to do this. Some extra hours but well worth it. |

Starterman,
Your interior looks great. It looks very clean, very simple but plush. I hope mine comes out half as good. Congrats!

Re: 55-59 interiors
i like the middle door panel done in a color to match the seat! i think ill do that, since for some reason my middle door panels are a different shade of blue than the rest of my interior.
