Pcm location?
Looking for some ideas on where to mount my pcm. I have about 3ft of reach from the back of my heads. I definitely want it mounted inside the cab. I know it's a matter of preference but wondering where some of you guys mounted yours. Thanks.

Re: Pcm location?
I put mine in the glove box.
I cut the glove box so the 2 ECU connectors would just slip inside and hook up.

Re: Pcm location?
I started with mine on the DS inner fender. It was easy access, 5 second quick release, and used the cooling louvres in the core support to help with heat.
Then I pulled my inner fenders, and relocated the ECM and TAC up onto the firewall on the inside of the cab. I build a knee-pad panel that mounts under the dash and creates a more sectioned off area under the dash and behind my shifter base. The ECM sits below the glovebox and above the passenger footwell. The TAC mounts right ahead of my shifter console. You can just see the TAC in the upper right of the picture, and with the panels in place and carpet up, you can't see any of the wiring or it.

Mines behind the glove box..I know you only have 3ft to play with but I wish many times over I had my harness made long enough to mount it under or behind the seat...that's how I will do my next one.

Re: Pcm location?
I put mine behind the glove box also on my 82 . Worked out good for me . Just had the modify the harness length . Heres a picture where I went thru the fire wall . Its the big bulk just behind the red trans stick . I used the factory hole . Sure did clean up the engine bay .

Re: Pcm location?
I ended up putting it in the glove box. Figured it was easily accessible and out of the way at the same time. I also put the obd 2 port in there too.

Re: Pcm location?
Mine is behind the dash. I wanted the glovebox space for an AC kit later down the road.
