1985 C/10 gas tank question...
I have an '85 C/10 short bed with 305 and turbo 350 trans now. Plan is to swap in the 6.0 LSx and 4L80 trans I have. My question is can I use the stock '85 tank with the '87 sending unit with pump upgrade. Or do I really need to use the '87 tank in order to use the '87 sending unit?

Re: 1985 C/10 gas tank question...
You can use your tank, but it won't have any baffling in it so when you get low on fuel it WILL run away from the pump at some point and will cause the engine to stumble, usually during acceleration when you don't want that to happen.

Re: 1985 C/10 gas tank question...
Thanks for the info. When I looked at a new 1987 C/10 16 gallon tank, it said baffling not included. Can I assume that not all 1987 C/10 tanks were EFI tanks? I know the my '87 Monte Carlo was originally carbureted.
Can I use the fuel pump from my LSx donor truck on the 1987 C/10 sending unit? Or maybe use the whole LSx donor truck's sending unit on a new 1987 tank?
