1985 chevey front suspension

I have a 64 c10 and I am going to upgrade to disc brakes on the front. I purchased a used 1985 Chevy truck front suspension and would like to replace the most common things that would wear out or be bad from sitting for a while. can someone give me a list of things to replace. I have looked for front suspension rebuild kits but not sure if it everything I need and there are just so many different ones.

Upper and lower ball joints, inner and outer tie rod ends, break pads and hoses and maybe bearings and rag joint.

I probably went overboard when I did mine. I replaces everything forestb mentioned plus Brake calipers, Pitman arm, Idler arm, Upper and Lower control arm bushing, and Sway bar bushings, Make sure you use good quality parts. I went with all Moog parts.

The replaceable wear parts are, upper and lower control arm bushings, upper and lower ball joints, inner and outer tierods, the idler arm, pitman arm, inner and outer bearings and seals, brake pads, new or rebuilt calipers, surface or new rotors and new caliper hoses.

Re: 1985 chevey front suspension

inkslinger,
When I did the that swap on my 64 I also wanted to replace ALL the wear parts. I didn't replace the tie rod ends or the center link because they're easy to get to down the road. My rebuild parts came to over $1,000.00 and I'm cheap. Poly upper & lower control arm bushings, Raybestos professional grade upper & lower ball joints, 2 1/2" drop spindles (CPP), Moog standard front coil springs (wish I went with the 2" drop springs instead), power steering box mounting bracket from CaptainFab (great piece by the way) 6 lug Disc rotors from CPP, rebuilt calipers, Hawk brake pads, new flex brake lines, rebuilt master cylinder - I even reused the brake lines & proportioning valve from the 73 doner truck. I had to make a bracket for the proportioning valve to mount it in the same spot as the 73 truck.
