62 C10 Instrument cluster junkyard swap?
62 C10 LS 5.3 4L60E swap:
Has anyone tried to use a "junkyard" cluster out of a newer car/truck to allow the use of electronic gauges including the speedo? I just can't justify paying the price of electronic gauges/speedo on my build. You can get the full cluster from a late model vehicle with speedo/tach/oil/water/fuel..for $40-$70...something that will fit inside the stock '62 cluster hole...anyone done it? |

I think that is the stock type gauge cluster out of the 2003 truck. They just added the white backgrounds behind the gauges. https://www.google.com/search?q=2003..._AUIBigA&dpr=1

The clusters are coded to the vin and that may take some work to figure out. If you are up to the wiring it takes You could give it a try. The cluster from the donor that your engine and computer came from may be the easiest to get to run.

Truck is currently running, just looking to see if anyone has used a non GM cluster...Kia Sedona maybe? small sized cluster that would fit in the stock opening preferably with a tach, electronic speedo and oil and temp...cheap at the auto wrecker.
