brake booster nipple removal.

Got my motor in today, and when looking over the motor, looks like I will need to install the nipple into the rear of the intake for my brake booster.
I happen to work for a dealership and we actually had an old intake manifold for my motor laying around.
I could not figure out how to remove the nipple from the manifold. I can't pull it out and it won't unscrew. Any Ideas?

Re: brake booster nipple removal.

Push in the on whole nipple and red collar. Hold the red collar in and the nipple should pull out.

Re: brake booster nipple removal.

Ok now the dumb question.... Push in on the red collar toward the manifold right?
Sorry manifold is at work and I'm home now so it's not in front me to fiddle with. Seems like I tried all sorts of combinations trying to remove it, just wanting to make sure I'm pushing in the right direction.
Again sorry for the dumb question and thanks for the help!

Re: brake booster nipple removal.

In the current picture you need to push in on the red collet toward the manifold and the nipple should slide out nice and easy.

Re: brake booster nipple removal.

Truckdude are you looking for the actual vacuum nipple piece? (what he shows in the pic).
or are you looking for a factory part to block that port off?

Re: brake booster nipple removal.

TruckDude, the 5.3l for my swap, came from a Tahoe with hydraboost, and had the plug in the plenum. I removed the plug for a vacuum nipple. If you need a plug, you can have mine (I saved it). PM me if you want it

Been trying to find the factory plug i have manual brakes. I have mine caped off with a rubber cap and hose clamp and ive replaced it twice already cause the one the parts stores sell keep dry rotting and leaking.

I had my dealer try to find the part numer but they had no luck

Glad it worked out.

Guys I removed the nipple and installed a tee 1 vacuum line to the booster and another one to the AC canister
