Hot Rod Power Tour 2016
I just saw this, not sure if its been posted yet but here are the dates:
June 11 – Lamar Dixon Expo Center in Gonzales, Louisiana June 12 – Royal Purple Raceway in Baytown, Texas June 13 – Circuit of the Americas in Austin, Texas June 14 – LOCATION TO BE ANNOUNCED, Dallas/Fort Worth, Texas June 15 – Remington Park in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma June 16 – Kansas Pavilion in Wichita, Kansas June 17 – Kansas Speedway, Kansas City, Kansas I don't know for sure how far / what parts I'll go on, but for sure I'll be in Wichita, as this is about 2 miles from my house! Most likely I'll be in Wichita and KC, and might see about OKC. I'm not sure if I'll be able to make it other spots. |

Re: Hot Rod Power Tour 2016
Sad it's not coming anywhere nearby to me this year. Had a lot of fun last year...my 5th PowerTour...got to hang out at the hotel and cruise along with Tom Bailey (of Drag Week fame...in his gold Z28).
A few pics from the HotRod Blog. They got some pics of my Blazer and K/10.

Re: Hot Rod Power Tour 2016
That's awesome. I'll definitely have to catch them in OKC as I've never had the opportunity to make it to a stop before.

Re: Hot Rod Power Tour 2016
I'll be there. Did it in 2012, 2013, and 2015.
Trying to get my twin turbo 67 Continental finished. My C10 is nowhere near ready.

Re: Hot Rod Power Tour 2016
I started a thread about this in the Midwest region forum, but no one ever looks in there. I'm for sure doing from Dallas to KC. I have my rooms booked already. It's something I have always wanted to do. I cant wait!

Re: Hot Rod Power Tour 2016
From other forums, I'm hearing that the Dallas/Fort Worth stop is at Traders Village in Grand Prairie. I made reservations near there just in case. Has anyone heard anything different.

Me & a few other buddies with trucks will be at the OKC stop for sure.
Don't know that we will be on the road with the tour but we will at least be there at the stop. |

Re: Hot Rod Power Tour 2016
My 67 will go together quick. I bought the truck and LS swapped it in 2 weeks to go on Power Tour last year. Burned up the 4L60 just South of St. Louis unfortunately. So while it was apart I figured Id remove the cab and clean it up good.

Re: Hot Rod Power Tour 2016
I"ll be going this year. 4d paint job and all. I went in 2013 and I am sure the view will not be as good as the Smokies but I'm definitely making the long haul.

Re: Hot Rod Power Tour 2016
I am planning to go, but unless my '50 pickup is 100% done and the bugs are shook out I'll be taking my 2015 Challenger Scat Pack...not a bad compromise...
My Dad will bring his '62 Nova I think. We are talking about long-hauling and booking rooms soon. This will be my first HRPT. Any tips?

So I'll go out on a limb here and say that air suspension and LS conversions have replaced wheels as the first order of business for a lot of today's builders. When the cheapest set of decent custom wheels you can find still cost over a grand, a lot of guys end up "settling" (like that TV ad).

Re: Hot Rod Power Tour 2016
Some more. You will see anything on the tour!
Our second day on the road and this rig pulled into the same spot to eat. At our motel one night this station wagon pulled in. Man I loved the color they had already done 2800 miles from Canada!

Re: Hot Rod Power Tour 2016
I'll be going for the 3rd year in a row (2nd long haul). I'll be taking my car though, the truck needs too much and the car has proven itself (made the +/-3,500 mile round trip last year.)
