GMC on Hemmings

I check to see what might be for sale every once in a while and found this '65 GMC listed for $13,999. at first I though it was one of those trucks that was made to "look" like it was distressed. In going through all the pictures you can see where this truck is REALLY distressed. the bottom of the door corners are just scary as well as many other parts. I not bashing this truck, just amazed that someone feels its worth $14K.

It's Not worth 14K that is for sure. But it'll be worth 14k to Somebody. To Me it would be worth 14K if it had a factory 351 V6 with P/S, A/C, P/B, and a 4 on the floor also if the body was in better shape and it had a custom cab. lol Sure is a nice truck though.

Re: GMC on Hemmings

$14k seems a little high but patina cars/trucks here in CA are really popular especially if it's real, not faked patina. I was at Pomona antique auto swap meet and patina cars & trucks were selling faster and in some cases pulling in more money that fully painted clean vehicles (more true in VW's, classic trucks, and some 40' and 50's cars.. not so true with 60's and 70's muscle cars).

I myself love the patina look but am shocked the money these vehicles are now bringing.

But back to that truck.. it's pretty straight for being original and short beds are costly now so while I don't see $14k.. $9 or $10k is where I think that truck is in today's market (at least here in CA).

I can't see that number, but then again i'm cheap and like to do things myself. However, I love the vibe of that truck, and would totally drive it the way it is...for 5k...but the previous poster is probably right with the popularity of "real patina" right now, someone will pay 10k, and if they're happy with it just the way it is, that's still getting into the hobby pretty reasonable, its hard to build anything decent from scratch in the 10k range anymore
