Hoping to pick this '76 2wd up
Working on the final details. Factory 2wd. Will be lowered 5/6 before I take ownership.

It's had one repaint at some point. The interior is excellent. Just a little rust behind driver rear but all under the molding so repair and touch up paint should be easier. The seller had a great idea and I will probably add a white vinyl wrap to make it a two tone.

Yes, he was going to lower it before I bought it. I think we have worked out a deal and I will be buying it as it sits rather than him dropping it. I will eventually drop it, but that may be a bit down the road.

Thanks Keith. They have grown on me as well. I always thought I wanted a '71 or '72 but I do like the upgraded interior in these(stock anyway). A plus is this has AC.

Here you go. The seats are original and I thought the carpet was but he did in fact put all new carpet and weatherstripping in. And since we all love SPIDs around here......

You're going to find out that a flip kit puts the center section of the rearend extremely close to the bed floor and the back will be really low.
They look super cool with a flip kit, but you will need a frame notch and maybe a bump in the floor. Blazers are different in this area, compared to the trucks. I've lowered two of these. A '79 and a '82 2wd blazer. My '79 got drop shackles and I removed all but 3 leaf springs. I wouldn't suggest this. My '82 got lowered leaf springs. Your rear leaf springs should be the 52" version. www.performanceonline.com sells them. Also if you add a drop shackle for the rear leaves, the right side gets into your fuel fill hose. So that will need to be re-routed. I would stick with a 5" drop leaf spring by itself. The front will be just like c10 trucks with the normal spindle/spring drop. Good luck.

I was a little hesitant to show how I did it as rear drop springs seems so much easier. I just remember looking at the front spring bolt when contemplating how to drop it and thinking to myself "I'm not sure how I feel about fighting with that in order to change the springs". Instead I fought with 20 other things.

Thanks guys. I had read about the problems with drop shackles and the filler tube so I will definitely be avoiding that. I also want to avoid a c-notch so it looks like new rear springs is going to be the way to go.

Helpful thread, thank you for the link. It sure seems like spending the money for 52" rear springs will be the easiest way to go. Sans the flip kit obviously but I just don't want to have clearance issues.
