parking lights

I installed an American autowire kit in my 1964 c10. Now my parking lights stay on when my headlights come on. What do I need to do to make it like original where the parking lights go out when the headlights come on?

Re: parking lights

i don't know for the 64 but when i did my 63 with a AA wiring they quote that on the headlight switch connector, the brown wire from GM color coding is connecting the rear tail lights to the front parking lights. on the switch there is a plug that is used for "alternate full time" to enable front parking lights to remain on when headlights are on.

No problem I was staring at those diagrams for some time myself trying to understand what went where.

Re: parking lights

1strong63, I will check that out and see if there is something I missed on my kit. My parking lights are staying on with the headlights and I want them to go out. Maybe I can email the AA company

I just did the same install - there are two locations to plug the park lights into. 1 the lights stay on with headlights and 2 the lights turn off. The middle location is the rear and I believe the right location is always on.
