Fender emblems

Hi guys. It's been a while since I've been on here. But I have 78 k/20 Silverado. Anyway I found a set of original fender emblems from eBay. When they arrived, one was broke. Can this be repaired, and has anyone ever considered refinishing them to look new. These don't look bad. I'm just curious thanks.

Re: Fender emblems

I hope you at least ask for a refund from the seller since one arrived broken. But if you would post a pic of the broken emblem, someone might be able to offer up a solution.

Re: Fender emblems

I have a similar issue except I bought junky badges knowing they were bad. I'm sure it can be welded by someone. My 15 broke off of my set.

Re: Fender emblems

Might try panel adhesive or a similar epoxy.

They do make a plastic welder http://www.eastwood.com/airless-plas...r-model-6.html or a hot staple kit http://www.eastwood.com/ew-hot-stapl...ir-system.html

Ok now the second question. Has anyone ever tried to rechrome them and try to make them look original with the letters paired and everything? I'm trying to figure out if it would be worth the effort

I would love to get new ones. But there aren't any new ones for a 78 Silverado 3/4 ton. I've tried several places. They've been discontinued. So now I got to see if I can salvage these and refinish them. Anyway here are the pictures. Look like a clean break to me

Re: Fender emblems

I did ask but it was pointless. I got pictures but I don't know how to upload them. Once I figure it out I'll post them

Re: Fender emblems

I don't know if this post is allowed, but I can weld that back together and rechrome them for you. We make repairs to pot metal like that all the time. Check us out.

Nate

EDIT: I should have specified we only do metal parts, we are not set up to do any plastics.
