76 grill question

Hey everyone, I have a 76 gmc 1500 that had the grill zip tied on. I'm pretty sure that wasn't factory equipment. I bought a grill that was suppose to be for a 73-80 but it mounts the same way as my current grill with tabs at the bottom and top. Am I missing something?

Re: 76 grill question

I think the 76 trucks mount different. Do they mount on these braces? Sorry for the sideways pic.

Re: 76 grill question

On my 76 it uses these. This is what you should need. And it uses a screw to hold the grille on.

Re: 76 grill question

Chevy use different brackets than GMC and they also vary depending on the years of the trucks. Also center brace can be different as well.

Gotta match brackets to the grille.
