72 Motor Mounts

I am working 72 chevy pick-up with a 402 engine and having a hard time finding the correct motor mounts.

If I am correct this engine uses the clam shell- I looked at another 71 or 72 chevy truck with a stock 402 and that's what it has. My problem is that if I have the correct perches the motor mounts I have ordered are wrong. They are too wide and too short for the perches I have. The perches I have need the top 2 bolts to be on approximate 2.5" centers and from to bottom hole 5.75". I have ordered mounts from 3 different suppliers and none work.

Do I have the wrong perches? The wrong mount set up? Or the wrong mounts? If it mounts what do I need and where do I get them?

Thanks
Larry

Re: 72 Motor Mounts

Are you talking about buying the rubber/steel replacements? You can buy them at oreilly's. The brand name is anchor I believe.

BB72CHEVKT- that's the exact set up I have I just need new mounts. Anyone have a part number? When I order from Classic & LMC that's not what I get.

Thanks
Larry

Re: 72 Motor Mounts

The 72 stands and mounts are unique to 72 only...And WAY over priced! Pics of what you have would be a great help? The pre-72 stands like these, http://www.manestruckparts.com/store...Category_ID=16 with standard $12 small block motor mounts is the "bee knees" and wont break the bank. Same set up I have in my 72 BBC..."just sayin" ~Ghostrider~

Am I correct in reading this that you have all the parts including the clamshells like uncle posted in the picture? So all you're looking for is the rubber internal replacements?

Re: 72 Motor Mounts

I have everything but the part in uncle's picture. I hopefully found them at classic car parts for $ 14.95 each. They measure the same as I need and look just like the one uncle is holding.

Thanks
