Tilt Column question
Good evening all. I hear tell that ALL tilt columns for 67-72 trucks were black with a black steering wheel. Any truth to this? I am going to replace the steering wheel but I want to get what is correct for a tilt column.
thanks. |

Any reason that they were all black?

Re: Tilt Column question
Really you are only talking 71-72 for factory installed tilts. Even then considering the fairly low installation rate it made sense to keeep them all black vs stocking several colors for production. Even more so when you consider the top trim Cheyenne Supers used black columns as standard with or without tilt. When the new locking columns came out in the 73s all of them were black with or without tilt. Just cheaper to build that way.
