66 Cab restore parts questions

On a 66 cab restore I am running into a few issues and have a few q's.

QUESTION 1

What bolts do I need to mount the pillars back once I cut and weld in the pillar patch panels? The bolts head on the other side looks like the other body bolts, but I think they are needing to be longer than say a fender bolt.

And if anyone has tips on removing/cutting off these bolts please mention.

QUESTION 2

The floor currently has a washer/disc to mount the cab to frame. The patch panel has a recessed spot but no disc. Is there a part I need to order, or is this disc able to be ground off at spot welds and reused?

QUESTION 3

And then there was this, the door hinge mounting plate came out from the inside of the rusted out lower inner cowl panel. What needs to happen to replace it?

It seems to have slipped through the rusted inner cowl part I also have to replace with a patch panel. I think I would need to cut out this side to be able to reach in and re seat the plate.

Re: 66 Cab restore parts questions

According to what I'm reading in the parts book a 3/8-16 X 7/8" Bolt for the pillar.

The disk in the floor has incorporated in the floor assembly therefor has no separate part number. You should be able to reuse your old one.

The inner cowl panel needs to be repaired, so if the patch panel is high enough, you can reinstall the hinge mounting plate from the inside of the cab with some metal cage fab'd up to hold it in place. As you know the plate needs to move with the door for positioning.

Impressive details in your thread, nicely done up.

I'll look that up with part companies, LMC or Classic Parts I guess.

Thought so, I guess its welded in place. Just wanted to check around before I start drilling and prying and ruin the thing.

The patch panel is about 10 inches tall, so Illl cut a good bit of the cab out there so I can reach up and deal with that metal cage you described. Im betting it just rusted and fell apart. Thanks for that info!
