Gaskets and Seals

I'm about to pull my 350 engine and th350 trans to clean everything up, change some seals (oil leaks), and possibly port my heads. Are there any seals or gasket that I need to change while I have it out? This engine was supposedly rebuilt 15k miles ago, but I'm getting a lot of oil leaking from my timing chain cover and rear main seal.

Re: Gaskets and Seals

to do the timing cover correctly you will need to pull the oil pan. with the engine already out it is a piece of cake. use a Felpro one piece oil pan gasket. it eliminates the mess of stock multipiece gaskets. you will have to install the timing cover first. then the oil pan gasket

also check the transmissions torque converter front seal(i think thats what its called) while you have it out

just to name 2 things lol

Re: Gaskets and Seals

Thanks! I was actually looking for the transmission front seal right now. All the 350 Complete gasket kits I find though only have the multi piece oil pan gaskets.

Re: Gaskets and Seals

i couldnt find a gasket kit with the one piece oil pan either. but you could just buy it separately or buy the gaskets individually depending on what all you plan to replace.

the valve seals are probably shot. its easy to replace them i highly recommend this tool
