power steering conversion
I ahve collected all my parts for a PS conversion. I am wondering though if I will have to change the steering shaft at all...Anybody know...Thanks

Mine was a one piece shaft. I just loosened the bolts on the column and raised it up. I installed the steering box on the frame using a rez kit. I pushed the column back down and bolted it back up. It works fine for me.

If you used the REZ adapter to mount the box, ( and I really HOPE you did !) the stock shaft will need to be shortened and re-welded.
Or, if you decide that it's a good time to go for a tilt column, the installation is a complete bolt-in using vibration dampner/u-joint and DD shaft from suppliers like Flaming River or Borgesen. Dennis |

Stock rag joint size for a '64 is 3/4".
Make sure the new steering spindle will accept it. if not, back to the welding shop!
