New 67 4x4 3/4 ton owner
What to thank all of you for the knowledge I have gained off of this forum.
I myself have owned verious 67-72 trucks for over the last 30 years and I just bought a 67 4x4 3/4 ton last week. The truck is bone stock. 250 ci engine, sm420 transmission,t221 transfer case,Eaton rear end 4:56 gears. I believe it may have been bought as a cab and chassis. No mounts on the frame for a bed no passengers side sun visor no radio or speaker ever. Never owned one quite like this going to be a fun one. |

Re: New 67 4x4 3/4 ton owner
So I found the truck on creigs list but it was in Nevada. It was close to a friend of mines place so desided to go look at it. After talking to the seller on the phone I was sure they ran the tranfer case out of oil. He said it won't move in any gear but it runs great!
So I go look at it and when I get there it is on jack stands. It starts right up sounds good but like he said it won't go into gear or at lest drive anything while in gear 4 wheel or not. So I buy it for 1500.00 from the guy and head back over hwy 88 in a snow storm! There were cars, trucks and snow plows wrecked on and off the road all over 88. That was one white nuckle ride for about 3 hours! Yesterday I drain the oil out of the transfer case. It is like new with metal in it. The transmissions oil is not new. No metal in it at all. I know the sm420 married to the T221 is hard to find parts for but I'm going to try and keep it stock if I can. Whitlock |

Beautiful, rare and a great deal as well! Looks like pretty low miles or at least well taken care of.
Married trans/tcase? I had the same issue on a truck once and it was the coupling sleeve in the adapter. Any pics of the SPID on the glovebox? Id love to see some engine and under carriage pics too. |

Not many extras on this old truck. Not many of these trucks built eather only 498 of the cab and chassis in k20.

I like how not one of the 67-72 pickups are the same, but this one is way different. I like it.
