1979 desirables to use on 1984 truck?

Howdy. I have an 84 K10 that is a rolling project. I have access to a high option 1979 K10 parts truck that is rotted to death. It has folded in half behind the cab (frame rotted.)

The 79 has a factory tach dash and buckets with console. The seats are in rough shape but I believe them to be original.

How tough is if to get either of these to work on an 84?

No clue on the seats but the instrument cluster should be an exact physical fit. Be sure to research the differences in the pin order and usage on the plug connector. Note gauges that are different between the two clusters. If you can, pull the cluster plug on the 79. You can pull pins from that plug to use in yours. Salvage as much of the tach wiring as you can. Pull the temp gauge sensor since it might be a good match to the 79 temp gauge.

I am currently in the process of converting a cluster from an 89 Suburban to fit in my 75 while adding an aftermarket tach.

Don't forget to check for things like fuel tank filler hoses. Might be newer than what's on your truck.

I know the transmission tunnels are different 73-80ish vs 81-87 as are carpets, so the floor is different, maybe not a show stopper but look at some carpet pics / supplier web sites to get an idea

blue is 75-80 2WD

brown is 81-87 2WD

darker brown 75-80 4WD
