I've got a power steering pump with a bent pulley. Tried to used a puller from autozone but the puller doesn't fit, and it almost looks like the pulley is threaded on. What pump is this?

That's a slip fit pulley with a keyway and key. Take the nut off the end and it will slide right off.

CST10 .. thanks for the quick reply - is there a seal around the perimeter of the pump? when I dipped it in the mineral spirits part washer a rubber-like material came out of it.

There is a large O-ring that seals the pump housing to the outer sheet metal reservoir. The mineral spirit washer fluid will degrade the rubber and render it useless. You will most likely have to replace that o-ring.

Rock Auto has kits with all the seals you'd need. I'm sure NAPA and others must also. Pretty inexpensive. From the pictures on their website it appears the instructions are included.

You had also asked about pump identification. You have what appears to be an original pump.

Took the body of it off, the o ring is still there and in good condition. Maybe some oil created a film around the outside of the pump or maybe the last guy put RTV around the outside of it.

Is this something worth working on? Or should I just paint it and throw it back in?
