Orginal 1969 4bbl Quadrajet

No clue what this is worth. Just pulled it off my 69 CST 396.

Was thinking of rebuilding it but I would maybe sell it and get a new Holley or Edlebrock with electric choke.

Is it worth anything?

Truck ran fine with it but was hard starting when cold.

If your only problem was hard starting cold. Why don't you add an electric choke to this carb about forty bucks. The choke you have now was a pain when new.How did you adjust it? Bend the rod and guesstimate, electric you can fine tune better.

Re: Orginal 1969 4bbl Quadrajet

I guess just send it out for a rebuild and see if they can add the choke.

We just pumped it and waiting till it warmed up. Was a PITA for sure....does this have value or no?

That is the correct numbered carb for your truck. If you are doing a stock restoration you may want to go through it and keep it. If nothing else just keep it incase you decide to use it later.

Re: Orginal 1969 4bbl Quadrajet

Would I be butchering it by installing an electric choke?

Re: Orginal 1969 4bbl Quadrajet

I would keep that carb if I were you and simply have it rebuilt.
You will go through a variety of carbs over the life of your truck and find yourself returning to find the original one....which you already have.
Converting it to an electric choke would not be too difficult...they are pretty simple carbs once you get familiar with them.
Keep it for sure.
